GigaGen, a subsidiary of Grifols, seeks a talented, highly motivated manager to lead day-to-day operations in the laboratory. The Lab Manager will assist with demand planning and oversee general lab functions including safety, ordering, and equipment maintenance. This position will offer exposure to drug development, from early research through development and manufacturing.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Support day-to-day lab operations management
  • Project demand planning and forecasting for lab consumables and reagents
  • Maintain inventory management system and develop adjustments as needed
  • Build out continuous improvement strategies
  • Manage supplier and vendor accounts
  • Ownership of the asset management lifecycle including procurement, equipment maintenance, and service contracts
  • Perform laboratory space expansion and build outs
  • Ensure overall lab safety and EH&S compliance
  • Maintain medical and hazardous waste
  • Serve as liaison to building facilities for lab related activities
  • Lead sample management and reorganization efforts
  • Develop and reinforce laboratory discipline protocols to ensure quality within workflows
  • Oversee shipping and receiving duties including coordination with external sites
  • Mentor and train other technical staff

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related field
  • At least 1-3 years of laboratory research experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Analytical competence to complete statistical analysis of product evaluations
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrate flexibility and problem-solving activities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Direct experience with molecular biology, NGS, and/or bioproduction is a plus
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds
